Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
Taking place at Waneka Lake from 6 p.m. on August 6th to 6 a.m. on August 7th, Relay for Life is a walk-a-thon fundraiser to raise funds for the fight against cancer.
The City of Lafayette participates in Relay for Life both as a location host and as a team. There are many fun, family friendly fundraisers going on at and before Relay for Life on August 6th.
Before Relay for Life: - Disc Golf Competition (August 6th from 4-8 pm) (Suggested donation for per player for entry - $5.00)
- Sun or Moon Namesakes for sale at the Recreation Center (Suggested donation $1.00)
- Donation stations available at Lafayette City Hall, The Lafayette Library and the Recreation Center
- Luminaria Purchase and Decoration (Suggested Donation $10.00)
Luminarias are a great way to honor a loved one that is fighting or has passed due to cancer. They are displayed along the path at Waneka Lake on August 6th and help those walking to fight cancer light their way. Luminaria recipients are also honored at the Luminaria ceremony held during Relay for Life.
