Evidence of Qualifications
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND
- 30 semester hours of college completed; OR
- One year experience as a sworn police officer or corrections officer in a duly constituted governmental (local, state or federal) law enforcement agency or correctional institution; OR
- Two years military service having been honorably discharged; OR
- A combination of any of the above categories that is approved by the City's Human Resources Division.
Special Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be Colorado POST certified or have the ability to be post certified.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation to include polygraph, psychological & physical evaluations.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class "R" Colorado driver's license and have a good driving record.
