The City of Lafayette Police Department is a contemporary law enforcement agency that has been providing excellent services to the community for over 100 years. Our department consists of 51 (42 sworn, 9 civilian) dedicated and talented individuals who operate under a community policing philosophy. This philosophy directs department members to form lasting partnerships with members of the community, providing continuous feedback from the community to the police department. This two-way communication results in an outstanding relationship with the community and a high level of responsiveness to community needs and concerns.
