CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP
March 5, 2012
Call to Order
Mayor Cutler called the March 5, 2012 City Council Workshop to order at 6:17 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 1290 South Public Road, Lafayette, Colorado.
Those in attendance were Mayor Carolyn Cutler, Mayor Pro Tem Steve Kracha and Councilors Pete d’Oronzio, Staci Lupberger, Alexandra Lynch, Brad Wiesley and Christine Berg.
Also present were City Administrator Gary Klaphake, Police Chief Rick Bashor, City Attorney Dave Williamson, City Clerk Susan Koster, Recreation and Facilities Management Director Curt Cheesman, Finance Director Robert Wright, Community Life Director Betsy Stroomer, Human Resources Director Pam Spring, Community Development Director Phillip Patterson, City Engineer Peter Johnson, Assistant City Engineer Brad Dallam, Accounting Manager Wade Nickerson and Parks, Open Space and Golf Director Monte Stevenson.
2011 City Financial Report
Finance Director Wright said a year-end review of the City’s finances is necessary to consider required and requested budget amendments. He said Ordinance No. 09, Series 2012, amending the budget according to the review, appears on the agenda for tonight’s meeting.
Employee Handbook
Human Resources Director Pam Spring presented the 2012 revision of the City’s Employee Handbook. She highlighted policies of the new edition and answered Council questions. She requested Council adoption of the updated handbook in regular session.
Goosehaven Reservoir Plan
City Engineer Peter Johnson discussed the Goosehaven Reservoir Plan for expansion, including the construction of a 3rd and 4th reservoir to increase storage capacity. They discussed Lafayette’s other water acquisition projects and partnerships.

Mayor Cutler adjourned the workshop at 7:30 p.m.
