2012 Peach Festival – meeting with Lafayette events coordinator
The events coordinator was not present at the meeting. Postpone discussion / presentation until April meeting.

Boulder County ZW Action Plan – Discussion
Follow up on recommendations to City Council:
-    Composting option for curbside collection is currently being studied by City staff. In process.
-    E-waste collection event being researched. It would be optimal to have a collection event about a month after Peach Festival so that we can promote it during the Festival.
-    Waste audits for businesses – Boulder County Resource Conservation Division (NOT Eco-Cycle as Marjie thought) had a coupon in the 2/22/12 Hometown Weekly paper. It encourages businesses to get quotes on composting and recycling services for their business and once they sign up for service, businesses submit the coupon and receive $150 towards the new service. The coupon covers all of Boulder County so perhaps WRAC can encourage local businesses to use it. (Coupon scanned and attached)
-     Plastic bag ban/ fee seems to be on hold for the moment.

Old/New Business
The City plans to give Old Town Lafayette a ‘face-lift’ and it was recommended that the City consider C&D (construction and demolition) recycling or reuse for tear downs or removals of any items affected by the renovation.

It was also mentioned that increasing public recycling by having more bins / visible opportunities for recycling in a renovated downtown would project a very positive image. Perhaps if the revenue from sales of recyclables is up this year, we could consider purchasing additional outdoor bins.

Meeting adjourned at 6:58PM
