Public Art Committee

Lafayette Public Art Committee Vision
To strategically place art throughout Lafayette that will enrich the daily lives of residents and visitors, inspire creative thinking and celebrate all that is unique about our community.  Public art projects will expand as the community grows through contributions of residents, businesses, developers, local artists, friends of Lafayette, city staff and volunteer committee members and commissioners.

Lafayette Public Art Committee Goals

• To build a collection of public art in Lafayette by selecting sites, acquiring installing and maintaining art. 
• To integrate various forms of public art into all areas of Lafayette to enhance the image of the city and reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community. 
• To have a positive impact on the quality of life in our community by fostering cooperation, advocacy, marketing, education, and stewardship of public art that will create public understanding of the social and economic value of art in the community.

The Public Art Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m, in the Lafayette Library upper level conference room.
