Be a Part of Art in Lafayette!
The Lafayette Cultural Resources Department is looking for artists to submit work for the following programs:

See & Respond 2014
See and RespondThe deadline is now closed.  Please join us for the reception at the Lafayette Public Library on Friday, September 2 at 6pm.
Call for Artists and Poets!  The Lafayette Cultural Resources Division announces a Call for Artists and Poets for the See & Respond Art Show.  Poets and 2-D artists of all kinds are invited to See & Respond to the 2014 Lafayette Colorado Art on the street collection by writing poems or creating 2-D works of art in any medium that are inspired by any of the 2014 Art on the Street sculptures. Cash prizes will be awarded for this juried show. More information.

Arts in the Community Grants Application

Individuals or organizations may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects within the community. The LCAC awards money, usually not exceeding $1000 per grant, to fund projects which will directly benefit the city and residents of Lafayette. Grant applications were due June 16. All projects receiving grant money need to be completed by December 31, 2014. More information.

Art Night Out - Artist Booth Space

ANO.pngCall for Artists and vendors! We are striving for a rich variety of media/crafts/ … Most of our booth spaces are reserved for arts and fine crafts. We are closing the Public Road between Cannon and Emma Streets, creating a traffic free zone for our artists and cultural arts related booths. There will also be booths with arts activities for kids and teens, and local arts and cultural organizations. This is an arts focused event and non-arts related vendors may not apply.

Art on the Street
Art on the Street
The Art on the Street 2014 Call for Artists is now closed. Art in the Street is an art on loan, outdoor sculpture walk in Old Town Lafayette. This program is in its sixth year. Each year at least one sculpture has been purchased by a private buyer. 
Sixteen sculptures will be selected. Sculpture is installed for approximately 12 months. Selected artists receive a $500 stipend. Artists are also eligible for a $1000 People's Choice Award.

Arts in Education Grant Applications
This call is now closed.  Local teacher may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects geared towards students within the community. Each year the LCAC will determine the total amount of funding available and the maximum grant award amount. For 2014 the projected total of grant funds is $5000 and the maximum award will be $500.

17th Annual Lafayette Community Art Show

The call for entries to  the 17th Annual Lafayette Community Art Show is now closed. The show was displayed in the Lafayette Public Library gallery space from March 30 – May 31, 2013 and featured a wide range of media, highlighting Lafayette’s creative, diverse and eclectic artist community.

Lafayette Cultural ArtsThis call is currently closed. Artists may apply for a two-month show with the city. Space will be available in 2014

The City of Lafayette has three facilities with beautiful gallery walls to display artwork on a rotating basis: Senior Services, City Hall and Lafayette Library. Hundreds of people pass through these buildings each week and enjoy seeing the work of various artists and the different media represented. The library also has display cases where smaller 3-D and fiber arts pieces can be shown.  

In the event of cancellations of scheduled artists we may contact new applicants about their availability to fill those time slots.
