  2. Lafayette Open Space and the World: Signs of a Living Planet in our Midst

    March 4, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Senior Services Center

    What can the places we walk through or pass in our cars everyday teach us about how our planet lives and breathes? A lot! Join naturalist Martin Ogle for a fascinating exploration of how our local flora, fauna, geology and human community reflect our Living Planet! Mr. Ogle explains, in clear and understandable terms, how bacteria, prairie dogs, grasses and human technology are all part of a living system that we can sense and appreciate in our everyday lives.   3. Matinee Wednesdays

    We have a big screen TV and provide popcorn and a comfy place in which to watch a great movie. Adults are welcome to enjoy a fun afternoon at the movies with us. Call 303-665-9052 to find out which movie is playing this month.

  4. Country Dance

    March 4, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Senior Services Center

    This four-week class will get you ready for the country dance floor! We'll be learning all the starting movements to get you traveling around the dance floor for the Texas Two-Step and the Triple Step. In addition, we'll be learning the couples line dance and the Cowboy Cha Cha. So get your boots on and come join us. Fee is per person. Call 303-665-9052 by Feb. 23 to enroll.

  5. Night Club 2-Step

    March 4, 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Senior Services Center

    This four-week class will teach you everything you need to know about this beautiful slow dance step done to soft rock, Latin or contemporary love songs. You will learn the necessary techniques for leading and following, to help you enjoy the movement together. It is romantic, simple and easy to learn. Fee is per person.   6. Bull Durham Casino

    March 5, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM @ Senior Services Center

    Leave the driving to us and enjoy the scenic view as we take the Dream Machine bus to Black Hawk Casinos. Bus leaves from the Lafayette GO Center - please arrive about 15 minutes early so we can depart on time. Must be 21 years of age to attend these trips. Lunch on your own and prices range from $6-$12.   14. IMAX Trip

    March 19, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Senior Services Center

    Enjoy the ultimate movie experience! It's an entertainment experience so real you feel it in your bones, so magical it takes you places you have never been; so all-encompassing you are not just peeking through the window, but part of the action. There's only one IMAX and once experienced there's no going back. Bus will leave from Lafayette GO Center - please arrive 15 minutes early so we may depart on time.   17. Walk with a Naturalist at Coal Creek

    March 25, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Senior Services Center

    Join naturalist Martin Ogle for a 1.8 mile walk along Coal Creek to explore local flora, fauna and geology. The group will learn some simple tips for winter tree identification, effects of the September floods of 2013 and other interesting tidbits about this Lafayette Open Space area. There is a limit of 18 participants for this program so call 303-665-9052 early - but at least by March 18. Meet just south of Ryan Elementary School where Centaurus Village Dr. ends at Centaur Circle.

  18. Low Vision Group

    Learn about resources and products for independent living with low vision. Home visits by a low vision specialist may also be an option. Call 303-665-9052 to enroll by class date.
