  1. Lafayette Public Library Summer Reading Program

    Join the Lafayette community as we Dig into Reading this summer, with special events for children, teens, and adults. Our goal this year is 54,000 reading hours! The summer reading program is free and has something for folks of all ages! Every child and teen who registers for the Summer Reading Program will receive a FREE book, and can go on to earn more books and other great prizes. Summer Reading registration begins May 24; register online or at the library.

  2. National Senior Health & Fitness Day

    May 29, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM @ Festival Plaza

    More than 1,000 organizations nationwide celebrate the largest annual health promotion event for older adults. Recognize this special day with an activity to benefit you! We’ll do a 20 minute group class featuring Zumba Gold, Zumba Satao and Tai Chi. Each of these types of exercise are specifically designed to provide a safe, fun and energizing way for mature adults to reach their fitness goals. Everyone can succeed in this class! The first 25 registrants who complete the group activity will earn a free Senior Health & Fitness Day T-shirt. This event will also include demonstrations, vendors, resource information and refreshments. Register by 5/22.

    The 17th Annual Lafayette Community Art Show, a program of the Lafayette Cultural Arts Committee, features a wide range of media, highlighting Lafayette’s creative, diverse and eclectic artist community. A public reception and award ceremony for the show will be held Saturday, March 30 from 3:30-4:30pm at the Library. Works of art will be on display through May 31, in the Library’s Gallery.
