[ARCHIVED] Lafayette Trails and Trailhead Update

Public Road detour

The entire Coal Creek/Rock Creek trail system through Lafayette is now accessible. Detours at the South Public Road Trailhead and 120th Street Underpass will reroute trail users around underpass repairs. These detours direct bikers and pedestrians around the bridge underpass construction to newly installed crosswalk devices equipped with flashing lights which will provide safe passage across streets.

Additionally, the new upgrades to the Flagg Park Trailhead are complete providing improved accommodations and newly repaired access to the eastern portion of the Coal Creek trail system. New and improved amenities at the trailhead include a new public restroom, parking for 18 vehicles, parking for two horse trailers, an ADA parking space, and signage. This trailhead is located 0.5 miles east of the intersection of Flagg Drive and 119th Street in Lafayette.

Coal Creek Trail where it connects in Louisville near Empire Road is still closed as ongoing engineering and repair continues.
