What's New here at Bob's

Make a New Year's resolution to your health and happiness by kicking off 2018 at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. We have exciting programs starting this month that are great for any fitness level. 

  • Need some motivation to keep you moving? Why not join our new Bob's Mega Miles Club, which will keep you accountable all year long.
  • Need to shake up your training? There are new editions of BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT launching this month, definitely challenging you to lift stronger and punch and kick faster.
  • Want to get more involved in the community? We need volunteers for our annual Oatmeal Festival on January 13.
  • Need a fun way to get in shape? Sign up for one of our Winter or Spring sports leagues. Registration deadlines are coming soon!  Continue reading to find out more!
Please remember that the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2018 to celebrate the New Year. We will return to normal business hours starting Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Bob's Mega Miles Program

Bob's Mega Miles starts January 2

Come into Bob's and walk, run, jog, bike, swim or row and track your miles. Reach the following number of miles and win an exclusive Bob's Mega Miles Club Prize.
100 miles in 100 days (once in a 12-month period)
250 miles in 6 months (once in a 12-month period)
500 miles in a 12-month period 

Pick up your FREE card
and register at the Front Desk to track your miles starting January 2. All miles must be accrued inside at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. 

Openings For Afternoon Preschool still available

For young children, meaningful and long-lasting learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work. This is best accomplished through purposeful play facilitated by highly intentional teaching practices.

Afternoon Sessions run from 12:30-3:30PM
Monday/Wednesday/Fridays  //  Tuesday/Thursday //  Monday-Friday

Fitness for a Fit Year!

NEW LAUNCH of LESMILLS PROGRAMS START JANUARY 14
BODYPUMP 104
and BODYCOMBAT 74 are coming to Bob's and the workouts just keep getting better! One word that describes BODYPUMP 104 and that's EPIC It is the perfect blend of music! It is the perfect blend of music,workout and innovation. Classes will start seeing BODYPUMP 104 on January 14. Get ready for what may be our fiercest release yet in BODYCOMBAT 74. Watch out for exciting new tempos and some killer supersets. This release will begin on January 20. 

FITNESS CLASS OF THE MONTH // SILVERSNEAKERS CLASSIC
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing and handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support. Classes are held Mondays and Friday from 8:15-9AM or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:15AM-12PM at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center Group Fitness Studio or Mondays from 11:30AM-12:15PM at the Lafayette Senior Center. 

BECOMING A GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR WORKSHOP // JANUARY 27, 2018
You've taken the classes and found you now want to share your fitness passion with others; so what does it take to become a certified group fitness instructor? This introductory workshop will give you a behind-the-scenes peek into doing just that; becoming a certified group fitness instructor. See more information and register here

Senior Service Happenings

  • New and Improved Wednesday Morning Transportation loop for Seniors starts January 3, with pick up and drop off at Affinity, Josephine Commons, Villa West, Boulder Ridge, and Arbordale Acres to go to Vitamin Cottage, Sprouts, King Soopers, Walmart, the Library or the Recreation Center. Limited seats available; register by the preceding Friday.
  • New fun free weekly drop-in: Ageless Grace starts January 3 at 10AM: Timeless Fitness for the Body & Brain
  • New drop-in class: Latin Dance Fun Fitness starts January 4 at 9:15AM; drop in fee or Silver Sneakers pass.
  • Community Open House:  January 18, 3PM – 6 PM. Please join us for snacks and learn about what Senior Services has to offer to you, your friends and family members.
  • Active Living Every Day 12 week course - starts January 24; register by January 18
  • Healthy Meal Planning on a Budget by Natural Grocers on January 30; registration required - FREE.
