DEFINITION: Responsible for prompt, efficient and friendly service of beverages and foods to customers and wait staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Assist in beverage inventory control; in ordering all beverages and supplies needed for the bar operation; and in receiving and stocking of beverages and supplies. Responsible for making all alcoholic beverages according to the prescribed recipe and providing prompt, courteous service to all guests. Responsible for quality, portion control and presentation of all beverages. Responsible for daily set up, stocking, and break down of bar area; for keeping dining room and patio eating areas and equipment cleaned; for abiding by and enforcing all Colorado Liquor Laws; and for practicing good safety procedures. Required to record and collect moneys for food and beverages served; responsible for cash verification of register at beginning and end of shift. Required to conduct yearly physical inventory of all bar related items. Perform related work as required and assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT: Work is performed primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors which could include exposure to dirt, sand and all types of weather conditions. Work requires intermittently sitting, standing, walking; use of hands to fingers, reaching, bending, stooping or crouching, climbing, kneeling, carrying and lifting; pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting of objects weighing less than 24 pounds; will include exposure to noisy, stressful situations. Interaction with customers is an every day occurrence requiring ability to negotiate, mediate and public relation skills. Work requires ability to work flexible hours.
EQUIPMENT USED: The ability to properly operate or use the following equipment is necessary for this position: variety of kitchen utensils, blender, cash register, calculator, and telephone.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge’s: - Areas within the restaurant to include kitchen, dining room and beverage cart, as well as the bar.
Skills - Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.
Abilities: - to enforce codes and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially; to express ideas clearly and concisely and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
EVIDENCE OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Training - No specified training or education required.
Experience - Bartending experience preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be 21 years of age and attend State Liquor Training within four (4) weeks of hire.
