Job Title: Cook - Indian Peaks Golf Course

Salary: $7.64 per hour plus tips
 The position will be open until filled and re-opened as needed throughout the season.
Description: 
DEFINITION: Responsible for day to day preparation of the food at the Indian Peaks Golf Course Clubhouse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:  Assist in food inventory control, in ordering food and supplies for the kitchen operation, in receiving and stocking food and supplies.  Responsible for cooking all foods according to established recipes, preparing daily specials, special events foods as needed, portion control for all foods served, control of spoilage and waste, and the quality control and presentation of all foods served.  Required to keep kitchen, food prep areas, coolers, and freezers clean, properly rotate all foods in stock, coolers, and freezers, practice good safety procedures and adhere to all Public Health Regulations. Performs related work as required and assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT:  Work is performed primarily indoors completing the task of food preparation.  Work involves intermittently sitting, standing, and walking; reaching, bending, stooping, and may require moderate (15 to 30 lbs.) lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of stock inventory to and from shelves and storage areas. Work requires the ability to use fingers and hands, to see and hear.  Exposure includes heat, odors, noise, humidity, wetness, solvents, and oils.  Must be able to work alone, as well as, with others.  Work requires the ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
EQUIPMENT USED:   The ability to properly operate or use the following equipment is necessary for this position:  all commercial kitchen equipment, i.e. stove, oven, grill, various related utensils and appliances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge’s: - Basic knowledge of food preparation and arrangement; of Public Health Regulations.
Skills: - Demonstrated skill in food preparation; operation of equipment necessary to perform functions of the job.
Abilities: - Ability to plan and prepare quality foods for small to large groups of people in an efficient manner; to adhere to and enforce Public Health Regulations; to express ideas clearly and concisely;  establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
EVIDENCE OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Training - No specific requirement.
Experience – Some cooking experience desired or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be at least 18 years of age.  Public Health Certification desired.
