DEFINITION:  Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance and construction of the golf course and its amenities. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:   The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:  Use a variety of hand tools, dig, repair holes, apply soil amendments, prune trees, lay sod; sweep or rake leaves; assist in cultural practices, spring trimming, dredge ponds and cut cups. Operate a variety of mowers and specialty trim equipment, operate heavy equipment; perform pre-maintenance on equipment, assist in equipment repair.  Perform golf course setup and minor irrigation repair; prepare for tournaments; perform weekend duty; perform various cleaning duties; perform trash removal; clean rest room facilities.  Assist in construction projects, planting projects, hand watering and raking bunkers; performs related work as required and assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL & MENTAL EFFORT:   Work is performed primarily outdoors and involves frequent heavy lifting and carrying (45 lbs and over).  Work requires frequent sitting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing, and will include exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, solvents, greases, oils and sun.  May require constant operation of motor vehicles and/or machinery; must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and extremes of temperature.  Work includes instructing and adapting various activities and ensuring the safe and proper use of equipment.
EQUIPMENT USED:  The ability to properly operate or use the following equipment is necessary for this position:  A variety of hand tools, of mowers, specialty turf equipment, heavy equipment, rake, broom, trimmer, pruner, variety of cleaning equipment and cleansers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge’s: - Standard tools, operating equipment, pre-maintenance and various physical skills.
Skills: - Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.
Abilities - Understand and carry out oral or written instructions; work well with others; exhibit acceptable golf etiquette; perform heavy physical labor and tolerate abnormal climatic conditions. 
EVIDENCE OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Training - Specialist I: No specific requirement - Must be at least 16 years of age    
Specialist II: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience - Specialist I: No specific requirement
Specialist II: Previous experience in golf course or related maintenance experience required or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Valid Colorado class R license with a good driving record preferred.
