Do I need a special permit for block parties?

Permits for street closures are available online. The original permit application must be received by Public Works at least 72 hours before the requested street closure so that we can notify emergency services and arrange to deliver the cones. Signatures must be obtained from everyone who will be affected by the street closure, and the original signatures, not copies, must be turned in to Public Works. There is a $25 charge for this permit, which covers delivery and pick-up of the barricades. We will deliver cones to the address you specify. Do not block off the street with automobiles since there must be access for emergency vehicles at all times.
