Submit a completed application to Human Resources for an open position before the application deadline. 

  • Apply on-line
  • Get an application at the Human Resources Office
  • on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 1290 S Public Road 
  • Request a fax of an application be sent to you

Q: What do I do if I want to apply for two open positions?

A: 

The City of Lafayette Human Resources Department requires that a separate, completed and signed application be submitted for each open position that an applicant wants us to consider them for.  Complete one application leaving the Position Applied For space blank, copy the application and fill in the position desired on each application and originally sign each of them as well.

Q: How does the City hire Police Officers?

A: From time to time the City of Lafayette Police Department will post available Police Officer positions on our website.  A person who is interested in becoming a Police Officer for the City of Lafayette Police Department may sign up to receive an email when a new position is posted.   We require that applicants be POST Certified.
