Spring Cleanup Starts at City Cemeteries

Starting April 1st, Parks crews will be at the Lafayette City cemetery performing annual maintenance.  All artificial decorations, wreaths, flowers or other objects that are unsightly, dangerous, detrimental or diseased will be removed.  City crews will be grave leveling, seeding and/or sodding, fertilizing, aerating and mowing in preparation for Memorial Day.  City crews do not conduct grave marker maintenance, as this is the responsibility of each individual plot owner.

Parks crews will also be at the Coal Creek Cemetery preparing for Memorial Day. Artificial decorations are prohibited. All adhesive applied decorations will be removed from the niches and crypts.  City crews will also be leveling, seeding, fertilizing, aerating and mowing.

All work is dependent on the weather.
