Council Candidate Petition Packets Available August 2

Six City Council seats will be up for election on Tuesday, November 1, 2011.  Those interested in running for office, must be a United States Citizen, qualified to vote under state law, registered to vote, 18 years of age or older, and must have lived in Lafayette for at least one year prior to August 22, 2011.

Nomination Packets will be available on Tuesday, August 2. They may be obtained in the City Clerk’s Office at 1290 South Public Road, or on line at www.cityoflafayette.com.

The Nomination Petitions and Acceptance of Nomination & Qualification affidavits must be filed (in person) with the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011. The petition must be signed by 25 Lafayette residents who are registered voters. Notary service for candidates is available at no charge in the Clerk’s Office.
