The Lafayette Police Department is looking for motivated people, ages 18 and up, to volunteer time to help make the City of Lafayette a better community to live and work in.
The Department has also developed a College Intern program that will give college attendees valuable experience while at the same time allowing the student the opportunity to earn college credit.
An internship with the Lafayette Police Department provides provides a positive, safe learning environment where students experience the various aspects and responsibilities of municipal law enforcement. Interns work on operational, administrative, and support functions while under the supervision of capable and knowledgeable employees in each assigned unit.
Intern assignments MAY include:
* Investigations * Office of the Chief of Police
* Administrative * Crime Prevention
* Records * Domestic Violence
* Crime Analysis * Youth Services
* C.S.I./Evidence * Patrol Administration
The Police Department has developed partnerships with the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado, Metropolitan State College of Denver, University of Phoenix, Red Rocks Community College, Arapahoe Community College, Denver Business College and Colorado Technical University.
