Support Services

The Support Division of the Department is supervised by Commander Gene McCausey. This includes: Community Affairs, Crime Prevention, Records, Restorative Justice, Property/Evidence, School Resource Officer Program and Volunteer Services. This also includes all business related operations such as, Budget, Grants, Professional Standards, Recruitment & Hiring and Training.

Commander McCausey has been married 33 years with two sons.  He is a 27 year veteran as a Law Enforcement Officer, has 19 years with the Lafayette Police Department.
Commander McCausey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration as well as a member of the Northwestern School Police Staff and Command graduate, Leadership Police Organization Instructor, Ethics Instructor, FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development graduate.  Commander McCausey has been recognized by the department and has received Officer of the Year, Meritorious Service Medal and numerous leadership awards
