Records Department
The Records Division has the responsibility of providing direct services to the public via the telephone and in person at the front counter of the Lafayette Police Department. Citizens are provided the opportunity to obtain certain records and information, including accident reports, criminal reports, fingerprints, local background checks, impounded vehicle release and more.
The Records Division is staffed 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Records Division acts as the primary custodian of the Lafayette criminal justice records. We are to ensure Department compliance with statewide standards for maintaining, disseminating and sealing criminal justice records.
Fingerprinting services are available Tuesdays, from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
