Outdoor Classroom
What is the Outdoor Classroom?
• It is a protected area for plants and animals within city limits • It is an environmental learning center for the entire community. • Its wetland meadow, prairie and woodland areas are the sites of ongoing study, restoration and enhancement. • In 2001, it was certified as a National Wildlife Federation “Schoolyard Habitat” thanks to the hard work of students at nearby Pioneer Elementary. • It is available to everyone and has a wheelchair accessible trail system that encourages nature viewing.
