Youth Weight Room Orientations & ID Policy Ages 15-17 years
In an effort to provide the opportunity to safely enjoy our weight and fitness equipment, orientations for youth between the ages of 15 and 17 years are required. This brief orientation, along with a weight room ID card, is a service offered by the Recreation Center at no charge beyond paid admission to the center. To guarantee a orientation spot, please call for an appointment.
Fitness attendent hours: Monday and Tuesday, 5-6:30 p.m.
Beginning Youth Weight Training - 12 yrs old and up
Unfit kids are one of the huge challenges facing our society. This weight training class can give youths the tools to start down the road to a lifetime of physical fitness. Through education, hands on training and fitness testing, our participants can see for themselves their progress and gain the ability to continue on to obtain their goals. This class is open for youths from the age 12 and up. The Recreation Center will waive the policy of 15 and older age limit for this class only. Taught by qualified instructors at the Recreation Center, it will include: free weights, selectorized and cardiovascular machines as well as weight room etiquette and safety. SaJai Wise Kids Program - Ages 6-12 years
What is SaJai Wise Kids? It's a Parks and Recreation based wellness program for elementary aged children. At its core, the SaJai Wise Kids program is about teaching children how to live a wise and healthy life by making good choices in food and activities. The SaJai Foundation teamed with the National Parks and Recreation Association to develop this program to teach youth about BALANCE and the central idea of Energy In (calories in) = Energy Out (calories out). Teen Outdoor Fitness Bootcamps
These high-energy workouts will be delivered by motivating personal trainers and are designed to be a fun challenge for all fitness levels. Whether you need motivation to get off the couch, want to tone lean muscle and build core strength, stay in shape over the summer or are looking to reach a personal goal, this fitness boot camp for teens can help you achieve these results.
