The Echternacht property is approximately 78 acres of irrigated farmland located on the west side of Highway 287 about a half mile north of Arapahoe Road. Jointly owned by the City of Lafayette and Boulder County, the preservation of this property has long been a priority for both. It is one of the last pieces in a series of acquisitions that have created a beautiful open space buffer along the north side of Lafayette. It is bordered on two sides by existing Boulder County open space.  The property includes Bullhead Gulch which provides wetland habitat for native birds and animals.

This property is agriculturally leased and is not open to the public.
