Reservations can be made for no more than two weeks at a time. You may reserve time up to six months in advance. The banner will not be hung if you do not pay in advance. The payment must be made before the banner is to be put hung. If payment has not been received at that time, your reservation will be cancelled.
Private events advertising a specific event at a business will not be allowed.
Banners will be 30' x 3' and must have wind slots.
-
Banners shall have grommets at all four corners and along the top and bottom of the banner, spaced approximately 18" to 24" apart.
-
Banners must be reinforced on all edges (top, bottom, sides) by a 1" piece of webbing sewn into place. In addition to this webbing, all four corners should also be reinforced by a triangular piece of webbing. The triangular webbing should extend by at least six inches along two edges to form the triangle. This is necessary to prevent the banner from being torn at the corners by strong winds, etc.
-
No commercial advertising will be allowed on the banners.
-
Torn banners will be taken down immediately.
No more than four banner changes will be allowed in any month.
There is a $50 fee payable to the City of Lafayette for hanging and taking down banners. This fee must be paid to the Finance Department before the banner will be hung.
Banners must be delivered before 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to the Public Works City Service Center, 1700 Avalon Avenue, the day before the banner is to be hung. Please present proof of payment at this time or your banner will not be hung.
The banner must be picked up from the City Service Center after it is taken down. Banners not claimed within 10 days will be destroyed.
