TV Turn-Off Week
The 2012 Program will run April 30-May 6.
Registration deadline is April 29
April 30-May 6, 2012 marks an valuable opportunity for parents to partner with the Bob Burger Recreation Center and promote healthy lifestyles through TV Turn-Off Week. A week-long recess from TV, electronic games and recreational use of the computer allows for active play, more family interaction, community involvement, thinking, creating and doing. The U.S. Surgeon General supports and promotes National TV Turn-Off Week.
Our aim is to have as many Lafayette children as possible turn off their televisions this week and participate in healthy activities. Every youth in grades K-12 who registers for this free program will receive a week’s pass to the Bob Burger Recreation Center.
All registered participants who turn in a completed activity log will receive a prize package which includes a book of their choice and a certificate of participation. Parents of participating children will be entered into a drawing to win a BOB screentime controller device compliments of Hopscotch Technology.
All participants must register no later than April 29 to be eligible for prizes. Turn your Activity Log in by May 13 to receive your book prize and certificate.
Register in person after April 1 at the Bob Burger Recreation Center at 111 W. Baseline Rd in Lafayette.
