Bell Horses Listen
Bell horses, bell horses, what's the time of day?
One o'clock, two o'clock,
Time to run away.
Little bell, little bell, where are you?
Here I am, here I am,
How do you do?
Baby put your pants on
You can tailor this song for putting on any article of clothing, or use it at diaper change time. At bath time, sing it in reverse as baby gets undressed!
Baby put your pants on, pants on, pants on,
Baby put your pants on, 1 - 2 - 3.
Baby put your shirt on, shirt on, shirt on,
Baby put your shirt on, 1 - 2 - 3.
Baby put your socks on, socks on, socks on,
Baby put your socks on, 1 - 2 - 3.
Baby put your shoes on, shoes on, shoes on,
Baby put your shoes on, 1 - 2 - 3.
Now that you are all dressed, all dressed, all dressed,
Now that you are all dressed, let's go play!
May there always be sunshine
(To make this Russian lullaby especially beautiful, sign the last word of each sentence.)
May there always be sunshine.
May there always be blue skies.
May there always be Mama.
May there always be me.
May there always be sunshine.
May there always be blue skies.
May there always be Papa.
May there always be me.
Come a' look a' see
A finger game with a calypso rhythm!
Come a' look a' see, here's my mama. [point to thumb]
Come a' look a' see, here's my papa. [point to index finger]
Come a' look a' see, my brother tall. [point to middle finger]
Sister, baby - [point to ring finger, then pinkie]
[kiss sound - put all fingers together and give them a big smootch]
I love them all.
On my toe there is a flea
The tune of this song moves up and down the scale. While you sing it, creep your fingers - the flea - up from the baby's foot to the top of his head and back down again. Pat baby's foot at the end.
On my toe there is a flea.
Now he's climbing up on me!
Past my tummy, past my nose.
On my head where my hair grows!
On my head there is a flea.
Now he's climbing down on me.
Past my tummy, past my knee.
On my toe - take that you flea!
Shoo Fly Listen
An easy circle game. Hold your baby facing out so she can enjoy seeing the faces of the other babies as you move in and out of the circle. Try this in front of a mirror, too!
[circle to the right while singing]
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
‘Cos I belong to somebody.
[circle to the left while singing]
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
‘Cos I belong to somebody.
[walk forward into the center of the circle]
I feel, I feel, I feel like a morning star.
[walk backward out to the edge of the circle again]
I feel, I feel, I feel like a morning star.
[walk forward into the center of the circle]
I feel, I feel, I feel like a morning star.
[walk backward out to the edge of the circle again]
I feel, I feel, I feel like a morning star.
[circle to the right while singing]
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
‘Cos I belong to somebody.
[circle to the left while singing]
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
Shoo fly, don’t bother me,
‘Cos I belong to somebody.
Sweetly sings the donkey Listen
Try this one as a round!
Sweetly sings the donkey at the break of day.
If you do not feed him, this is what he’ll say:
He-haw! He-haw! He-haw! He-haw! He-haw!
Up, down, turn around
Up, down, [hold baby’s hands up in the air, then down to the floor]
Turn around, [roll baby’s hands]
Touch the sky, [hands up in the air again]
And touch the ground, [hands down to the floor again]
Wiggle fingers, [touch baby’s fingers]
Wiggle toes, [touch baby’s toes]
Wiggle shoulders, [touch baby’s shoulders]
Say hello. [wave hands]
Rain is falling down Listen
(for the second verse you can cover your own eyes to play peekaboo instead)
Rain is falling down - [flutter fingers down like raindrops]
Splash! [clap]
Rain is falling down - [flutter fingers down like raindrops]
Splash! [clap]
Pitter, patter, pitter patter, rain is falling down [flutter fingers down like raindrops]
Splash! [clap]
Sun is peeking out - [hand over baby's eyes]
Peek! [take hands away for a peekaboo]
Sun is peeking out - [hand over baby's eyes]
Peek! [take hands away]
Peekabool! Peekaboo! [cover eyes and take hand away each time]
Sun is peeking out - [hands over baby's eyes]
Peek! [take hands away]
