How eBook Lending Works
eBooks work like regular library books. We have a copy of each book. When that copy is checked out, you may place a hold on it as you do for any library book. When it becomes available, you will be notified. When a copy is available, add it to your cart, check it out and download the book.
You can choose either a 7 or 14 day lending period from the My Downloadable Book Account screen by clicking on Lending Periods.
eBooks automatically expire after the lending period. However, you may check them in early if you wish.
You may have 4 items out from Overdrive at any time. This includes eBooks and audio books.
How to search for titles that are currently available to check out.
Use the Advanced Search menu
1. Select Adobe EPUB eBook or Kindle Book from the Format dropdown menu
2. Select Only show titles with copies available
3. Click the Submit button
How to Return Items Early
1. To return an item early so you may check out another, hover your mouse over the book in Adobe Digital Editions on your computer.
2. Click the Item Options arrow at the top left of the book cover
3. Click Return Borrowed Item
