Chief Morrell

Chief Gerry Morrell has been a Lafayette resident since 1964, and has been a Firefighter with the Lafayette Fire Department since 1975. Chief Morrell has a degree in Fire Science, is a Colorado State certified Chief Officer III, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations and an EMT, Chief Morrell has held every position in the Lafayette Fire Department and became the first career Fire Chief back in 2001.
Chief Morrell's vision for the Fire Department has been met over the past few years by: staffing career firefighters and paramedics 24/7, maintaining a reserve/volunteer staff. Bringing advanced life support fire department ambulance to Lafayette providing the highest level of life saftey possible to our residents. Chief Morrell and his staff are currently in the planning process to build a second fire station near Exempla Hospital.
