Arts in Education Grants

A 5-10 minute interview/presentation may be required. If so, applicants will be notified. All applicants will be contacted by the end of December regarding the status of their application.
The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission (LCAC) promotes, nurtures and celebrates the visual, performing and language arts in Lafayette, CO by:

Providing opportunities for the public to experience and enjoy art and culture in its various forms

Connecting artists, educators and community members with resources

Building partnerships to sustain and further arts and culture

Embracing and supporting the diversity of the community we serve
Requirements

All applicants must be of legal contractual age as defined by the state of Colorado (18+)

All projects must directly benefit students in Lafayette
-
All projects must function directly with a Lafayette school
Projects must be completed by 06/30/2012

A final report will be completed by the grant recipient within 30 days after the completion of the project and is due no later than 09/30/2012. The final report form will be provided to all grant recipients at the time the grant is awarded
General Application Guidelines
Eligibility: Project-based grants for projects including performance or group art activities with an educational focus and/or participatory learning opportunities are available to teachers who qualify under the General Requirements.
Awards usually do not exceed $350. There is no restriction as to the minimum amount that may be requested. In the current climate of budget reductions, this grant program will be highly competitive.
For Individuals: The State of Colorado law requires proof of citizenship at the time of the grant award.
Exclusions: Funds will not be provided for: Projects that have occurred before the grant deadline, capital improvements, fundraising events, receptions, existing general operating budgets and/or salaries for employees of organizations, reductions of deficits from past programs.
Evaluation of the Application: Each grant will be evaluated on the following:

Project quality

Budget
-
Realistic time frame
-
Demonstrated need for support

Number of students and/or members of the community impacted
-
Number of free and reduced lunch students participating
Completing the Application: Applications must be typed or computer generated using the exact format of this application (i.e. Questions 1-9, no exceptions). Answer all questions. Confine your answers to the space provided.

Submission: Submit completed original and nine (9) copies of the application to the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission, c/o Susan Booker, 1290 South Public Road; Lafayette, CO, 80026. The application packet may also include one copy of supplementary materials such as photographs, slides, CDs, DVDs, drawings, press cuttings, etc.
Video and audio materials must be cued for a three-minute maximum viewing. Supplementary materials should be picked up from the LCAC office within one week after the announcement of grant recipients. The LCAC cannot be responsible for these materials.
