Walk With a Doc

Walk with a Doc - FREE Monthly Program
NEW! Program begins April 7, 2012

Walk with a Doc is a free program for anyone interested in taking steps for their health.

Each walk will begin at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center with a brief 3-5 minute talk by an Exempla Hospital healthcare professional who will also provide support and answer questions on topics important to the community (hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary disease, women’ s heart disease, stents, etc)

1st Saturday of every month
9:00am

Start at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center
111 W. Baseline Rd / Lafayette

Bring friends and loved ones or come alone, and enjoy a refreshing, rejuvenating walk through the community.

Walking is low impact; easier on the joints than running. It is safe – with a doctor’s okay – for people with orthopedic ailments, heart conditions, and those who are more than 20% overweight. In addition, research has shown that you could gain two hours of life for each hour of regular exercise! That quick stroll around the block seems a little more worthwhile now, doesn’t it?
