Annexation
Property proposed for development must be within the city limits of Lafayette. If the proposed development is outside of the City limits, but within the Urban Growth Boundary as shown on the Land Use Plan Map, it must be brought into the city before the development review process can proceed. If the proposed development is outside of the Urban Growth Boundary then either the Boundary must be amended by the City Council, or the development review must be through Boulder County. Annexations require public hearings before both the Planning Commission and City Council.
