With your Lafayette Public Library card
you can renew your books online, place items on hold, access our databases & use computers in the library!
How to Get a Card
Bring something that includes your name and current address to the front desk. If you are 16 or under, your parent or guardian must accompany you to get a card. Or you may apply online and pick up your card at the library. Sign up for email reminders.
Checkout Period
Most materials are loaned for 3 weeks. Items borrowed for you from another library may have shorter checkout periods.
Problems Renewing or Placing Holds?
Please call the Checkout Desk at 303-665-5200 and choose option 2.
Overdue Charges
All library users pay 25¢ per day per item. If you owe the library more than $5 you will not be able to check out materials.
Anyone with items that are long overdue (more than 60 days) will have their account turned over to a collection agency in order to help us get those items back. A charge of $10 will be added to the account to cover the cost of retrieving these items.
Lost & Damaged Items
You are responsible for items checked out on your library card and you will be charged the replacement cost of these items. We do not accept a duplicate of the item or a similar item as a replacement.
