Connecting or Disconnecting Service
The process of connecting or disconnecting service depends on whether you are selling a home.
Renters and Landlords
If you rent a home or are a landlord, you need to call us to process an occupancy change. This needs to be done prior to the date that the home changes occupants. Call us at 303-665-5588 and ask for Finance.
Sellers
If you are selling your home, the title company will generally contact us to process the occupancy change.
Final or Initial Meter Readings
When a home changes occupants, we read the meter on the date of the occupancy change. If this occurs over a weekend the meter will be read on the nearest business day (Friday if the change is on Saturday, Monday if the change is on Sunday). This is then used to determine the final water bill for the former occupant as well as the initial water bill for the new occupant.
