		<description>Responsible for assisting with planning and implementing a Colorado State Licensed School-Age Summer Camp program for the City of Lafayette.&amp;nbsp; Camp is located at Pioneer Elementary School, next to the Bob L Burger Recreation Center. &lt;BR&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR&gt;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Assists in providing a creative learning environment, assists in preparing program activities and materials, assists in developing age appropriate lesson plans, assists in helping children to learn age appropriate socialization skills; provides feedback to the parents of the participant&amp;rsquo;s of the program; assists in maintaining children&amp;rsquo;s written records and complies with the state licensing child care regulations.&amp;nbsp; Assists in maintaining control of the camp environment; provides a safe environment for the young participants; monitors the safety of participant&amp;rsquo;s activities and the program facilities; uses all required safety equipment, takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly, to prevent accidents.&amp;nbsp; Assists in preparing equipment and other items necessary for the daily program; organizes related equipment and supplies; inspects the equipment to insure safety and cleanliness; may be required to set-up and break-down materials used for instruction.&amp;nbsp; Assists in maintaining a variety of records, including registrations, reservations, permission slips, shopping lists for needed supplies, accident reports, vandalism reports, medical records, and evaluations; performs a variety of miscellaneous duties.&lt;BR&gt;

QUALIFICATIONS:&lt;BR&gt;
Knowledge:&amp;nbsp; Working knowledge of the day camp program; of the equipment, and the facility; departmental rules and regulations; principles, practices, teaching methods and techniques for school-age education.&lt;BR&gt;

Skills: - Demonstrated skill in operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.&amp;nbsp; Administer CPR and first aid.&lt;BR&gt;

Abilities: - Communicate effectively and diplomatically with participants, parents, co-workers and the general public; react quickly and correctly in emergency situations, make sound judgments, exercise conflict resolution, exhibit patience when dealing with stressful disciplinary situations; express ideas clearly; establish and maintain effective working relationships, maintain confidentiality, work with, instruct and supervise children ages from 5 &amp;frac12; to 12 years, work in a culturally diverse environment, address multiple demands and meet deadlines. Have the ability to assist in organizing activities and tasks and the working environment to maximize efficiency, understand and follow instructions and procedures.&lt;BR&gt;

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Assist in food inventory control, in ordering food and supplies for the kitchen operation, in receiving and stocking food and supplies. Responsible for cooking all foods according to established recipes, preparing daily specials, special events foods as needed, portion control for all foods served, control of spoilage and waste, and the quality control and presentation of all foods served. Required to keep kitchen, food prep areas, coolers, and freezers clean, properly rotate all foods in stock, coolers, and freezers, practice good safety procedures and adhere to all Public Health Regulations; performs related work as required and assigned. &lt;BR&gt;
EQUIPMENT USED: The ability to properly operate or use the following equipment is necessary for this position: all commercial kitchen equipment, i.e. stove, oven, grill, various related utensils and appliances.&lt;BR&gt;

Maintain public facilities for the City; cleaning, securing and monitoring equipment / facilities, making repairs to equipment / facilities; assist with minor plumbing, carpentry and basic repair, as necessary. Operate a variety of equipment to facilitate the maintenance of buildings and grounds such as light vehicles and lawn mowers. Load and unload chemical fertilizers, trash equipment, etc. necessary to complete assignments. Perform related work as required and assigned. &lt;BR&gt;
