Welcome to the Office of the City Clerk!
The City Clerk serves as a department director and performs duties required by State Statute, the City Code of Ordinances and as directed by the City Administrator.
City Clerk Responsibilities
City Council Support Prepares for and staffs City Council meetings. Provides administrative support, including preparation of the official record of Council proceedings and the publication of legal notices.
Records Management Maintains City records, responds to public requests for information, and preserves archival documents.
Licensing Staffs Liquor Authority meetings, prepares and processes liquor license application, renewals and permits. Maintains city fleet registration, issues mobile home park license and other miscellaneous permits.
Elections Acts as the Election Official for coordinated general elections with Boulder County and for special local elections. Provides information for candidates running for municipal office.
Cemetery Administration Coordinates burial arrangements, handles sales and transfers, and updates maps and databases for the Lafayette Municipal Cemetery and the Coal Creek Memorial Gardens.
Television and Web Broadcasting Services Oversees government channel programming and broadcasting, cable television franchise issues, and website video stream of Council Meetings and Planning Commission Meetings.
