    Beginning birders are invited to experience the fun and discovery of bird watching at Greenlee Wildlife Preserve on the first Sunday of each month May - November 2016. Knowledgeable bird watchers will be on hand each Sunday with binoculars, spotting scopes and learning tools. Greenlee is a Lafayette Open Space marsh property adjacent to Waneka Lake. Parking is available at Waneka Lake west parking lot near the boathouse. The series is made possible by Boulder Audubon, Boulder County Nature Association and Environment for the Americas.

The academy meets once a week to explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions and functions.     For children in grades K-10th. Children can paint a Halloween, Dia de los Muertos and/or fall picture on an assigned exterior window space of a participating merchant in Lafayette. Local artists will judge the paintings. Awards are on 10/23 at 3:30PM during the Fall Festival at the BBRC. Winners in each grade category receive prizes and awards. Space is limited. Participants must provide acrylic paints and supplies as detailed in instruction sheet. Window assignment, instructions and supply list will be emailed after October 3.
