Coal Creek/Rock Creek Regional Trail System

For over 20 years, the City of Lafayette, the City of Louisville and Boulder County have united efforts to construct this regional trail which will, upon completion, span 14+ miles through the three locales. The mostly soft-surface trails parallel the two creeks for which they are named and give a variety of trail experiences and community access users enjoy.
Coal Creek Trail – 3.3 miles in Lafayette
Rock Creek Trail – 2.4 miles in Lafayette

Parking & restroom for CCT at South Public Road Trailhead (just south of Old Laramie Trail East)
Limited parking for RCT at Rock Creek West Trailhead (east side of Exempla Circle)
Rock Creek East Trailhead for RCT
Sports: Biking, hiking, walking, running, cross country skiing
Activities: Bird watching, wildlife viewing
**Horseback riding is permitted only on 1) Rock Creek Trail within the City of Lafayette and 2) south of Highway 7 and east of 120th Street on the Coal Creek Trail**
