Library Closures in November
The Library will be closed on Monday, November 12, in honor of Veteran's Day, and on Thursday, November 22, in observance of Thanksgiving. 

Storytimes Return to the Library November 5 - December 13!
We are so happy to be back at the Library for all our story times! We offer a variety of story times for young people in the Children’s Area on the upper level. Join us for fun - and learning!

Children's StorytimesBook Babies – Wednesdays, 10:30 am
For the very young through first walkers. Ms. Betsy shares the joy of books, songs and rhymes with your baby. For babies and their adults only!

Toddler Time - Mondays at 10:30 am
For toddlers, active walkers through 3 years old. Ms. Melissa leads an active story time especially for toddlers featuring short books, finger plays, rhymes, and songs. Siblings are welcome.

Family Fun Story Time - Thursdays, 10:30 am
For young people ages 3 – 5. Ms. Karen shares a lighthearted, enjoyable time of stories, songs, rhymes, and fun for preschoolers and their parents/caregivers. Siblings are welcome!

Cuentame un Cuento . . .  Tell Me a Story . . .
Friday November 9, 3:30 – 4:30 pm
Ms. Val shares rich bilingual stories, rhymes, songs, and activities for families and children of all ages in the Children's Area!

Ms Ellen singingShake, Rattle & Sing! Music Program
Saturday, November 3, 11:00 am
Sing, dance, rattle and roll with Ms. Ellen. 
Fun and laughter abound as we make lots of music together!
Join us in the Children's Area on the Upper Level. 

Annual Holiday Tea
 Tickets Now AvailableChristopher Maier
Sunday, December 2, 2 - 4 pm
Lafayette Public Library

Enjoy a treasured Lafayette family tradition at the Annual Holiday Tea, an afternoon of tea and cookies, good company, and a potpourri of original and traditional tales with Christopher Maier, storyteller extraordinaire. 
Tickets: $9 for adults, $6 for seniors and children. Cash or check only please; tickets are available at the Library throughout November. 

Homework Center News
The Homework Center for grades 3-12 is open for free, drop-in, bilingual homework help Mondays - Thursdays, 3-6 pm on the Lower Level.

Math & Physics High School level tutoring for high school students is available Mondays - Thursdays, 5-6:30 pm group study room. A free, drop-in program.

Tis the Season! The Santa Cop Program
The Lafayette Police Department coordinates gift donations for families in need, through the Santa Cop program. Many Lafayette families struggle to provide basic life necessities, and so providing holiday gifts for their children is next to impossible. If you would like to help support this program, you can place new, unwrapped toys in the donation box located in the Library lobby through December 5, or bring cash donations to the police department.

French Story Times

Fridays November 2 & 13, 4:00 pm
This is a volunteer-led story time! Ms. Sarah leads a delightful storytime in French with books, songs, and activities, in the Children's Area.

Civil War MedicineLafayette Historical Society
Presents Civil War Medicine

Thursday, November 8, 7 pm
Brigiadier General Robert Enzenauer
presents a program on Civil War Medicine 
in the Meeting Room on the Lower Level.
The program is free and is open to the public.

TV series on DVD!
Our DVD collection now includes TV series! DVDs can check out for 1 week, with an opportunity to renew, and there is a limit of 5 DVDs per check out. These changes give more people the opportunity to check out our entire DVD collection.

Volunteer as a Computer Coach!
We need computer coaches to help people with our public computers and personal laptops. Answer questions or problem solve on basic MSOffice programs, email, internet research, social media, e-readers and more. Bilingual Spanish speaking coaches are always in high demand! Apply online or in person at the library, or contact the
