Overview
Historic Lafayette provides an opportunity to learn more about Lafayette’s history. 
Protection of local structures, sites, or neighborhoods that represent distinct examples of architecture, are associated with famous historic events or persons, or make a special contribution to the unique character of Lafayette is also provided.

The Historic Preservation Board assists in this endeavor through the review and recommendation of land marking historic resources within the city, reviewing and approving any alterations to land marked sites, and through public outreach to promote historic preservation and preservation of the history of Lafayette.
