Shoppers with Invest in Lafayette bags

Invest in Lafayette is our city's shop local program, designed to keep dollars in our local economy by encouraging folks to stay local. When residents (and visitors) shop in Lafayette, sales tax dollars help to pay for park maintenance, police officers, streets, the library, recreation, and other important government services.
So go ahead - strengthen your community and shop Lafayette first!

Nominate Your Favorite Business for a Cash Mob
Invest in Lafayette has plans to hold a cash mob at a local business in August 2013. Do you have a favorite business in Lafayette? Is there a business that you can’t live without? Nominate that business to be a cash mob location this fall.

What is a “cash mob”?
A cash mob is similar to a flash mob, but the idea is to come together to help local businesses thrive. Participants sign up to receive an email or text message with the time and location of a cash mob event. Attendees meet a few minutes in advance of the event and then “mob” the business by spending $10 in the store. The sudden swell of people spending money comes as a pleasant surprise to the merchant and “Invests in Lafayette”.
