Fall 2015 Reading Buddies Sessions
Mondays, 3:30-4:30 pm, and Tuesdays, 4-5 pm, between Sept. 14 and Nov. 17.

Brochures and applications will be available by August 12 and the deadline to sign up is August 31.

Reading Buddies gives kids (the Little Buddies) extra one-on-one reading practice with caring, creative teen mentors (the Big Buddies), in a fun, low-stress environment.

Program Materials: Little Buddies - Rising 1st-3rd Graders
Big Buddy volunteers develop leadership experience, increase problem-solving and communication skills, and gain responsibility while serving their community and making a difference in children's lives.

Please note: Our program is not a tutoring service. Teen volunteers are neither trained nor expected to correct learning problems or to teach children to read.

About Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies is a free, award-winning reading enrichment program that pairs rising 1st-3rd graders with volunteers in
7th-12th grades. Buddies meet once a week to read together one-on-one, play literacy games, and do group activities. At the end of the term, the Buddies present a group project to their families.
  • Winter-Spring Term: January - April
  • Summer Term: June - August; includes a Writing Buddies program for rising 4th-7th graders
  • Fall Term: September - November
