Full Time Employee Benefits Preview

MEDICAL INSURANCE—The City offers 2 plans through Kaiser Permanente. Employees are required to enroll in a major medical plan. 

GROUP TERM LIFE INSURANCE—The City will provide life insurance at 1 X's the employee's annual salary up to $150,000. This coverage also includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage.

SOCIAL SECURITY - The City does not withhold for Social Security; however, the City does withhold for Medicare at a rate of 1.45%

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE - On-the-Job Injuries.  The City’s two designated providers for workers’ compensation injuries are:

Planned Benefit System

WELLNESS PROGRAM - Brochure available Program offers 2 levels:

  • Level  I - Encourages wellness development each participant is given a punch card allowing for certain recreation benefits; (Benefit equivalent of $150)
  • Level II - Encourages accomplishment of individual wellness goals - employee pays initial cost for health screening and receives an annual Employee Recreation Center pass ($350 value) and a monthly credit toward payment of medical benefits.
  • HOLIDAYS—9 established holidays and 2 floating holidays per year
  • VACATION—earned at a rate of ten 8 hour days per year
  • SICK LEAVE—earned at a rate of one 8 hour day for each month worked
