Lafayette Energy Sustainability Advisory Committee Opening
(Positions will stay open until filled. Applications are always accepted and held pending openings.)
Requirements
Citizens interested in being appointed to the Energy Sustainability Advisory Committee must be a registered voter who has resided in Lafayette for one full year and will need to submit an application and resume. Please submit 1) a letter of interest addressed to the Mayor and City Council 2) a completed application 3) a resume. These items must be received by the Recreation and Facility Management Department.

The Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. This Committee was established to serve in an advisory capacity and to make recommendations to the City Council regarding energy sustainability, conservation and clean energy generation within the City of Lafayette.

LAFAYETTE SUSTAINABILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINI-GRANT PROGRAM
Mini-grants of between $500-$1000 each with half of the approved amount provided upon grant application approval and the second half upon completion of the project.
Eligibility: Lafayette schools, community organizations, and individuals (artists are encouraged to apply). Goal of projects: To assist the City of Lafayette in achieving goals relating to one or more of the following goals from the LESAC Master Plan http://www.cityoflafayette.com/files/master_plan_2009_final%20012010.pdf • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions • Promote energy conservation • Promote clean renewable energy generation • Encourage economic development through local energy jobs • Reduce energy costs through reduced energy consumption • Develop and support sustainable energy education
The types of projects may include events such as workshops, videos, exhibits, curriculum, artwork and other education and outreach programs and projects. Grant proposals must be submitted by December 15, 2010 as a two page detailed summary of the project including goals, expected results, measurable outcomes, key personnel, and budget including justification of expenses.
