Dan works in the electricity practice at Rocky Mountain Institute in Boulder. He advises utilities and state policymakers on electricity market design, and leads research to identify best practices for electricity sector reform to achieve expanded clean energy integration. Prior to RMI, Dan worked as a consultant with Charles River Associates in Boston, where he studied regional electricity markets and state and federal energy policy. He previously was a researcher with the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI) Green Islands program, collaborating with university researchers and utility personnel in the US and Europe. Dan lives in Lafayette with his wife, Anna. Together, they enjoy runs around Waneka Lake, their CSA farm share from Isabelle Farm, and stealing away to the mountains for weekend trips.
