Extended Day is perfect for those students looking for some additional enrichment and socialization opportunities. Students in all three of our morning classes have the option to add the Extended Day option to create a full-day of fun-filled adventures for our littlest learners!
2018-2019 Extended Day FAQ
When will the Extended Day program start?
The first day of our Extended Day will start on Monday, March 4th for M/W/F & M-F students.
The first day for Tue/Thu students will be March 5th. Our last day of the program will be Thursday, May 16 ( Preschool family party at Waneka Lake!)
What are the days/hours for Extended Day?
You can select from 2, 3, or 5-Day enrollment, just as we offer in the morning. Extended Day will begin immediately after the morning program ends at 11:30am, and pick up will be at 3:30pm.
Will current families receive priority registration?
You most certainly will! Current families will have a week to register before we open it up to all community members.
What are the fees?
Do I have to pay the first & last month fee when I enroll for Extended Day?
Typically, we require families to make an initial payment that covers their first and last month’s payment (Aug 18’ and May ’19). However, since you are already enrolled in our preschool program, we will waive the requirement to pay up front for both March ‘19 and May ‘19 Extended Day fees. You will only be charged one month at a time.
How will I be billed for the Extended Day Program?
You will be billed for Extended Day according to the 2018-2019 Preschool Fees. If you are already enrolled in our AM Preschool (8:30am – 11:30am), then you will see an additional charge added to your monthly auto-pay amount. For example, if you are a resident enrolled in our Morning M/W/F program, and want to add the Extended Day option, you will be billed on March 1 and April 1 in the amount of $245 for the morning program as you have been, plus an additional $327 for the Extended Day Program. Your final payment in May will only reflect your Extended Day enrollment, as you were billed for August/May when you enrolled in the Morning program. I know, this sounds confusing! Feel free to reach out to Sarah or Marty with questions.
Is there a nap- time as part of the Extended Day program?
The State of Colorado licensing division requires that children enrolled in an Extended Day program must rest for at least 30 minutes. This is simply quiet time – we do not require anyone to sleep if they do not want to. We have a separate room for nappers, and other children will transition to different enrichment activities.
Here is a brief timeline of the Extended Day program:
8:30am – 11:30am ............. Morning Preschool Program (no changes to this program)
11:30am – 12:30pm ........... Lunch for those enrolled in Extended Day (children bring their own lunch)
