Be a Part of Art in Lafayette!

The Lafayette Cultural Resources Department is looking for artists to submit work for the following programs:

Arts in Education Grants  - call is open, deadline is March 19, 2020

Local teachers may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects geared towards students within the community. Each year the LCAC will determine the total amount of funding available and the maximum grant award amount. Find out more about Arts in Education Grants. 

See & Respond! 2020 - call will open May 5, 2020

Poets, photographers, and 2-D artists of all kinds are invited to See and Respond to the upcoming 2020 Lafayette Colorado Art on the Street exhibition by writing poems, taking photos, or creating 2-D works of art in any medium that are inspired by any of the 2020 Art on the Street sculptures. Deadline for entries is September 16, 2020.

Arts in Community Grants - closed until Summer 2020

Individuals or organizations may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects within the community. The LCAC awards money, usually not exceeding $2000 per grant, to fund projects which will directly benefit the city and residents of Lafayette. Find out more about Arts in Community Grants.

Art on the Street 2020 - call has ended

The City of Lafayette Public Art Committee is looking for submissions for the 2020 Art on the Street program. Art on the Street is the largest sculpture on loan program in Boulder County. Up to 20 works will be selected; artists will each receive a $1000 honorarium for their installation. Sculpture must be available for one year, with installation the first week of April 2020. All sculptures are for sale in this year long, outdoor art display. Artworks are eligible for the $1000 Jean Mellblom Award, the $500 People’s Choice Award, and the $500 Most Inspiring Award .

City Gallery Walls

Call for Artists! The Lafayette Cultural Resources Division is looking for artists and arts organizations to display their work on city gallery walls for 2-month long exhibitions through 2020. The City of Lafayette has three facilities with beautiful gallery walls to display artwork on a rotating basis: Senior Center, City Hall and Lafayette Library. 24 artists or artist collaborations will have the opportunity for an exhibition each year. This is a rolling call. Selected artists should read and complete the Guidelines and Inventory Sheet before hanging.

Michael Adams Poetry Prize

After careful consideration, the Cultural Arts Commission and ARTS!Lafayette are changing the event honoring Michael Adam’s poetry legacy to a reading/spoken word presentation by a distinguished Colorado poet.
In 2020 we will be hosting a reading by Colorado’s Poet Laureate: Bobby LeFebre.
LeFebre describes himself as a Word Architect | Performer | Cultural Worker. Come be inspired by a poet whose vision and commitment to using poetry for the greater good is so similar to Mike’s. At The Collective June 5, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Lafayette Youth Poetry Prize

The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission hosts the annual Lafayette Youth Poetry Prize, for English and Spanish Language Lafayette poets grades K - 8. Entries are due in the Spring of 2020. Complete details and entry form can be found at www.cityoflafayette.com/LYPP.

Art Night Out - Artist Booth Space

The final Art Night Out of 2019 is September 13, and the Art Market is full.

Art Night Out will return May of 2020

Crafted Life will be jurying and running the Art Market at Art Night Out. Applications will be available here: www.artmarketlafayette.com/

Artists set up on Public Road between Cannon and Emma Streets. This is an arts focused event and non-arts related vendors may not apply.
