The Lafayette Cultural Resources Department is looking for artists to submit work for the following programs:
Art on the Street 2020
Submissions Due November 4, 2019 The City of Lafayette Public Art Committee is looking for submissions for the 2020 Art on the Street program. Art on the Street is the largest sculpture on loan program in Boulder County. Up to 20 works will be selected; artists will each receive a $1000 honorarium for their installation. Sculpture must be available for one year, with installation the first week of April 2020. All sculptures are for sale in this year long, outdoor art display. Artworks are eligible for the $1000 Jean Mellblom Award, the $500 People’s Choice Award, and the $500 Most Inspiring Award .

Individuals or organizations may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects within the community. The LCAC awards money, usually not exceeding $2000 per grant, to fund projects which will directly benefit the city and residents of Lafayette. Find out more about Arts in Community Grants.

Local teachers may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects geared towards students within the community. Each year the LCAC will determine the total amount of funding available and the maximum grant award amount. Find out more about Arts in Education Grants.
Call for artists - Old Town art project
You’ve seen the bulky boxes on Public Road and Simpson Street. Wouldn’t they look better with some color? The Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority is looking for artists to transform street-side objects (electrical boxes, voltage meters, etc) into eclectic artworks! To apply, send a proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org by the 20th of each month. Include the address, a photograph of your proposed “canvas”, a sketch and description of your concept. Also include a link to your website, or at least three images of your artwork. Locations must be on Public Road or East Simpson Street and easily visible to passersby. Projects must include 3-D components such as mechanical cabinets. Utility boxes owned by Excel Energy are not eligible for this project. Stipends paid to the artists will be determined by the complexity and size of the proposed project, with a minimum fee of $250 and a maximum fee of $1000. City Gallery Walls
Call for Artists! The Lafayette Cultural Resources Division is looking for artists and arts organizations to display their work on city gallery walls for 2-month long exhibitions through 2020. The City of Lafayette has three facilities with beautiful gallery walls to display artwork on a rotating basis: Senior Center, City Hall and Lafayette Library. 24 artists or artist collaborations will have the opportunity for an exhibition each year. This is a rolling call. Selected artists should read and complete the Guidelines and Inventory Sheet before hanging.
Michael Adams Poetry Prize
Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission and ARTS!Lafayette are proud to host the annual Michael Adams Poetry Prize. Named in honor of the poet Michael Adams, the Michael Adams Poetry Prize aims to cultivate and inspire poetry while celebrating Lafayette’s commitment to community arts. More information will be provided when the call is open in 2020.
Lafayette Youth Poetry Prize
The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission hosts the annual Lafayette Youth Poetry Prize, for English and Spanish Language Lafayette poets grades k - 8. Entries are due in the Spring. Complete details and entry form can be found at www.cityoflafayette.com/LYPP.
Art Night Out - Artist Booth Space
The final Art Night Out of 2019 is September 13, and the Art Market is full.
Art Night Out will return May of 2020 Crafted Life will be jurying and running the Art Market at Art Night Out. Applications will be available here: www.artmarketlafayette.com/
Artists set up on Public Road between Cannon and Emma Streets. This is an arts focused event and non-arts related vendors may not apply.
