In August the partnering municipalities acquired 165 acres of the Mayhoffer family farm located at the intersection of South 95th Street and Empire Road for open space after many years of discussion. The property was a high priority open space acquisition as it serves as a land buffer between the communities of Lafayette and Louisville and offers valuable historic, agricultural and other open space qualities.
The public is invited to attend the event to celebrate this momentous occasion. There is limited parking on-site but attendees are welcome to park on adjacent cemetery roads and walk to the trailhead. Carpooling, biking and walking to the event are encouraged.
