Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and other parts of the Americas, usually on November 1st and 2nd, in observance of and in celebration of the dead. The festivities include parades, family gatherings at cemeteries and creating beautiful ofrendas, or altars, to recognize, remember and revere the deceased. Artistic traditions associated with the celebration include sugar skulls, Catrina dolls, music and poetry. Bring a small photo or memento to leave on the community ofrenda at The Collective September 28 – November 4.
