Viva Arts - Thread of Dreams

Friday, August 2, 2019

Visit the Collective on Friday, August 2, from 6p – 8p to experience a unique program called Thread of Dreams, as a variety of artists create a powerful and ethereal response to Sara Rockinger’s exhibit Language of Thread. Enjoy the electronic-opera sound of Orbiting Olympia. An icy sonic collision of classical voice and electronic sound, Orbiting Olympia combines operatic mezzo soprano Eve Orenstein and vintage modern synth player Sean Patrick Faling.

Visit the Collective on Friday, August 2, from 6p – 8p as a variety of artists create a powerful and ethereal response to Sara Rockinger’s exhibit Language of Thread. Enjoy the electronic-opera sound of Orbiting Olympia. An icy sonic collision of classical voice and electronic sound, Orbiting Olympia combines operatic mezzo soprano Eve Orenstein and vintage modern synth player Sean Patrick Faling.

Orbiting Olympia will be accompanied by the dynamic contemporary motion of T2 Dance Company, and live video mixing by Victoria Pereira.  This immersive arts experience is free and open to the whole family.

Sara Rockinger is a multi-faceted artist who works primarily in textiles. Her work is currently on display at The Collective. The exhibit – Language of Thread – explores (e)migration, an excursion to Paris, and family identity.
Rockinger’s work has been exhibited throughout the western United States as well as the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C.
